Cliff stabilisation works in North Devon

Abcas were employed by North Devon Council to undertake a full slope stabilisation project in Ilfracombe harbour as part of a redevelopment scheme providing new fishing stores below the slope.

Over 4000m2 of slope was cleared of vegetation and mature trees felled by Abcas arborists prior to rock scaling.
A top hammer drill attached to a long reach telescopic boom was used to install many of the 700+ stainless steel anchors installed in the slope. PVC coated rock netting, rock bolts and cables were installed to ensure the safety of those using the area below.

The works were completed on time and to the complete satisfaction of the client:

I’m absolutely bowled over with the work that’s been done. I know that there have been issues and the weather has not been helpful, but I have heard nothing but good things about the team. The cliff to my mind looks amazing ….and to finish on time and near enough to the budget is just brilliant. I’m recommending you to anyone who will listen and if you need a reference happy to oblige. Can’t thank you enough…
